TD-SCDMA (Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access) technology is the third generation mobile communication system standard which is proposed by China, and it has been approved by the International Telecommunication Union(ITU) as the mainstream standard. Since some key technologies of TD-SCDMA system are based on accurate and real-time channel estimation, such as smart antenna and Joint Detection techniques. If we can make channel estimation quickly, then real-time of the system will be improved. So research on TD-SCDMA system, One of the key research point is to make a fast channel estimation.In this thesis we carry out a study on channel estimation based on Schur algorithm in TD-SCDMA system. The algorithm can reduce the computational complexity of the channel estimation by producing the displacement structure of Schur complement and transforming the generator of the displacement structure, and then make fast channel estimation.Firstly, this thesis introduces the development of TD-SCDMA system and the three major technical standards of the third generation mobile communications, and then describes the status and significance of the channel estimation research. Secondly, we analyze the transmission characteristics of radio wave and wireless channel, and gives wireless channel model and detailed description of the physical layer structure of TD-SCDMA system. At the same time, the thesis analyze the feasibility and relevance of the training sequence for channel estimation, and make a detailed analysis based on training sequence of channel estimation process in TD-SCDMA system, then analyze and compare several training sequence based on channel estimation algorithm. For the characteristics of cyclic Toeplitz matrix for the training sequence code, we using low complexity of the Schur algorithm estimate channel, meanwhile, given the classic Schur algorithm of detailed decomposing process. The analysis shows that channel estimation based on Schur algorithm can reduce the computational complexity. On this basis, the performance and complexity of the varous algorithms were simulated and compared, and the simulation results show that compares with existing algorithms we find that their system performance is similar, but channel estimation based on Schur algorithm is lower computational complexity.
