South Korea’s Samsung has created a myth of sustainable development in the electronics industry. The combination of the products, brands, design and marketing is the key to success of Samsung. Samsung’s design formed its own style, create a distinctive brand personality. Rely on the distinctive design, Samsung has achieved worldwide success. Samsung is the role model of our national enterprises. It led the national industrial development in South Korea. Emphasis on design philosophy and design and the courage to take responsibility for the development of national industry are the most important things we have to learn. China and South Korea are all in the East Asian cultural circle, we have similar cultures, social traditions, values and aesthetics. Samsung’s success has important reference value to Chinese electronics industry enterprise.In this paper, Samsung’s design philosophy and its brand were studied based on the analysis of changes of social and economic development. The important experiences of Samsung’s design strategy, design philosophy and design methods were summarized, a theory of emotional design was proposed, and the future design trends were pointed out.
