Along with the rapid development of economy and social informationization more andmore high, small enterprise requires more information construction. In order to adapt to thesmall enterprise in the process of information and management system of the increasingdemand, therefore, it is necessary to build a set of complete information management systemto management enterprise, all kinds of data.This system development is to realize the overall mission with the order of the variouskinds of information related to the systematic, standardization and automation, and with thesoftware engineering methodology to include from requirement analysis, system design andrealization of the complete to test software development cycle.This paper discusses how to design and implement an order management system based onsoftware engineering ideology. The system focuses on the requirement of a small-mid sizedfoundry company, combined with cases to illustrate the system’s key technologies andinnovational features, including order entry, order tracking, order delivery and sales modulesmade to remind the payment record entry, customer management, as well as additionalreal-time statistical report news.The system uses browser/server multi-tier architecture with Internet/Intranet access, usesPython as implementation language, uses PostgreSQL as database management system. Dueto the characteristics of its development languages and frameworks, as compared withtraditional technologies, the whole development cycle is shorter, more efficient, and able torespond flexibly to requirement changes. While maintaining the completeness of its keyfunctionality, the system doesn’t require advanced IT infrastructure, and is easy to install anddeploy, so the costs of purchasing, operation and maintenance are low. It achieves the goal ofdigital order management and eases the pressure managing to control the whole process of anorder cycle. Running results show that the system meets the business requirement andimproves efficiency of business processing.In system design and implementation, we on the system of severe tests. After testing andsystem function and meet the requirements of the design index, meet the basic needs ofenterprise, and is consistent with the enterprise to the security of the system requirements, andat the same time, have a certain expansibility. Operation results show that: the design and implementation of an order management systembetter satisfaction of the small enterprise needs. It proves the feasibility of this systemavailability.
