In daily life, personal identification is always needed. The traditional identifiablemethod though credentials, account and password. Along with the progress of the society,people always need to take many credentials, example identification card, employee’s cardand driving license, or remember many accounts, passwords. But the credentials is losteasily, and account, passwords are lost or stole. Any of the above a situation will bringmuch trouble to user. Compare with the traditional method, fingerprint has the advantageof lifelong invariance, unease amnesia, long-term carried, so the fingerprint identificationtechnology attract much attention.This thesis builds the double microprocessor fingerprint identification system based onDSP and MCU, research the fingerprint identification algorithm. In hardware factor, thethesis gives the hardware diagram of the whole fingerprint identification system andintroduces the every one as the hardware diagram. The critical parts of the whole systemare TMS320VC5404and MSP430F135of TI. Thesis selects FPS200of Verdicom as thefingerprint acquisition equipment. FPS200can collect the high quality fingerprint image.There are image preprocessing, feature extraction and feature matching, which the threeparts of the identification algorithm. And the image enhancement, binarization and imagethinning are the three parts of image preprocessing. In the part of image matching, it canbe divided into fist matching and second matching.At last, debug the hardware system and identification algorithm. Experiments showthat the design has certain feasibility and practical value.
