WDM provides huge transport bandwidth for optical communication system, OTN introduces a flexible optical transport node equipment, and transform the bandwidth provided by WDM into the actual network bandwidth that can be applied flexibly. ASON and GMPLS optical transport network introduce the control plane technology to achieve intelligent control of the connection. The development of future optical transport networking will go towards the flexible schedule of high-capacity granularity service, the change to packet-based services, and the intelligent control of routing mode. The nodes and network equipment in optical transport networking is the core of network organization, management, and control. During the process of the product development, it is very important to test the node equipment which is based on the WDM technology. On the other hand, with the constant expansion of optical networks, network layer and topology become more and more complicated, and the constraint-based path computation is becoming increasingly difficult for control plane, IETF proposed PCE technique to solve the problem above.In this paper, I researched on the extension of the WDM-based product testing platform and the technology of PCE, the main research and development work are as follows:(1) To make research on architecture of the WDM-based product testing platform, and analyze the requirement of the platform’s extension. Then I comprehended structure of the Qx command between NMS the equipment, as well as the description language ASN·l used by the command deeply. Upon the work above, the low-layer script module for handling the test command was designed and developed for the extension of the cmmand.(2) To learn and become familiar with the use of the test instruments of the equipment, and achieve remote control between computer and the instrumentation. The extension scheme of the instrument module framework and the unified call interface was analyzed and designed, and the instrument driver was developed by encapsulating the instrument’s commands. Thus the instrument function extension of the testing platform was achieved.(3) To make research on the PCE architecture and related protocols deeply. Towards the problem of hierarchical PCE architecture and multi-domain path computation, a method was introduced for determining the domain sequence based on hierarchical PCE architecture, specificly including the method that parent PCE and child PCE exchange TE information between each other and the method that parent PCE establish the domain topology. Finally we made the simulation in the MUPBED network topology environment by using OMNeT++, verificated the methold on blocking rate performance and resource utilization performance of the network.
