The Third Party Logistics Enterprise Warehouse Management System Integration And Service

In the supply chain collaboration mode where the third party logistic (3PL) company is involved, both the 3PL company and the enterprise play their own roles and focus more on their core competitiveness and marketing power, thus benefiting each other, improving the inventory management, continuously optimizing the overall cost and the efficiency of the supply chain. Warehouse management system (WMS) is an important part among the business systems in a 3PL company. Besides integrating the traditional functions of warehouse management, the system also expands its business outwards. It provides the services like the dynamic inventory information to the external customers and suppliers.This thesis combines the advanced experience of WMS both locally and abroad, takes the warehouse management system (WMS) implemented in a 3PL company as the study object, analyzes its functions and structures, describes the backend business logic of this system. On the basis of the warehouse management system (WMS), the WMS’s service requirements of the internal and external systems are then analyzed. And the thesis focuses on its external information service needs, which include the interface with supply chain systems, the link with suppliers’ systems and the interaction with clients’systems. Besides, the thesis also uses interface programs and electronic data interchange (EDI) methods to put it into reality.The result of this thesis will be able to provide references to the local 3PL companies on the design and integration of the WMS, and provide reference models for the external interactions and information service of the WMS.
