Due to the restriction of mobile user terminal in term of volume, energy and other condition, the traditional MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology has the bottleneck effect in the development. However, because of the continuous development and innovation of communication technology, cooperative communication as a new technology solves the afore-mentioned problems effectively.Cooperative communication constructs a virtual MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) channel through the introduction of the relay channel between the source and the destination in order to obtain the cooperative diversity gain, resist the channel fading and improve system throughput effectively. Therefore, cooperative communication has become the focus on wireless communication in the future. But in cooperative communication, the problem about the choice in different space-time or space-frequency codes, the determination of the way of relay forwarding and the balance of transmission rate, bit error performance, the complexity for the system needs to be solved.Firstly the basic knowledge of communication has been introduced, including the OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) technique and the summarization of the classification of diversity technology and the forms of the received combination. Secondly, the cooperative communication model with different protocols (Amplify and Forward or Decode and Forward) has been researched. Their respective characteristics and advantages also have been analyzed. Lastly, a transmission scheme of full rate cooperative relay which is adopted by the AF protocol with multi-antenna is proposed for the cooperative communication model based on two-hop in this thesis. In order to increase system capacity and space diversity gain, the source and the destination have the multi-antenna respectively. In order to achieve the full diversity, the full diversity full rate technique has been applied to the source. In order to obtain more frequency diversity, the cyclic delay diversity technique has been applied to the relay. The scheme combines the two kinds of technique with the multi-antenna. The simulation result shows that the scheme can achieve full rate transmission and obtain the full diversity gain, but also have better BER performance than the full-rate cooperative relay scheme with the single-antenna. So the scheme has a great and practical value.
