The rice is one of the most important grain crops in our country. The improvement of riceclod yield and quality is an important goal for rice production. Every year because of the loss ofplant diseases and insect pests cause all is very breathtaking, so is to ensure that the yield of riceplant diseases and insect pests prevention and control and the quality of the main task. At present,our country to the rice disease recognition most is still in through the man-made subjectivejudgment of visual contrast with experience stage, to identify conclusion can not make anobjective and accurate judgment. Only a small fraction of the gardens will have recognition ofexperts for processing, but experts and less rice has the wide, the rice disease of the accuratelyidentify with great inconvenience, not only increased labor intensity and low efficiency.This paper will be computer image processing technology and pattern recognition methodcombined. In this study,the digital image processing and pattern recognition technology were usedto recognize rice diseases. The database of rice diseases was constructed and the intelligencerecognition system was developed that allowed us segment appraisal rice disease spot, extractfeatures of rice disease spot, carry on indoor disease spot and automatic recognize the rice plantdisease. This research complied with the modern accurate agriculture and is a developing directionof automatic detection technology in modern agriculture. Outcomes of this study can be used overa large range.
