In recent years, microelectronics technology is developing at a high speed.Meanwhile,with the progress of the design of mixed-signal integrated circuits such as dataconverters, fully integrated continuous-time analog filter has attracted considerableresearch attentions. OTA-C filters, due to the good electrical properties and high frequencyperformance, become one of the important research focuses of active filters.This dissertation studies the typical applications and design method for OTA circuits.The synthesis methodology of high-order filters is also introduced. The dissertation isorganized as follows: the background and the arrangement of this dissertation is given inthe first chapter followed by the basic operational transconductance amplifier design in thesecond chapter. The third part includes the design method and synthesis procedure ofbiquad based OTA-C active filters. Finally, a six order Butterworth active filter is designedand simulated based on a highly linear OTA circuit. The layout design of the OTA is alsoprovided.
