For future3G broad and wireless services, the combination of MIMO and OFDM is regarded as the most widespread attention. On the one hand, MIMO technology can increase the system bandwidth without additional bandwidth to improve spectrum efficiency, exponentially increase the system capacity. On the other hand, OFDM technology can combat the frequency selective fading and Inter-Symbol-Interference. The space-time coding is to obtain the benefits of MIMO systems as an effective method, which exploits the spatial diversity obtained by separated antennas, can be used to achieve either diversity gain to combat channel fading or capacity gain to achieve higher throughput. Among various topics related to MIMO-OFDM technologies, the multi-user MIMO-OFDM systems have caused more and more attention. However, in multi-user MIMO-OFDM systems, there are still multi-access interference and multi-path channel distortion. For solving these problems, we need to propose the effective space time signal processing technique. Multi-user detection (Multi-user Detection, MUD) technology is the solution from the receiver side effective multi-user interference. At first, we analyze the basic principles of MIMO-OFDM systems and introduce the principle and design of space-time coding, then introduce the STBC encoding and decoding as an example of specific design and performance analysis. We consider employing MIMO-OFDM technique in a uplink multi-user system, with specific transmitting and receiving strategies, it can efficiently suppress co-channel interference. In this paper, we propose to use a successive interference cancellation (SIC) multi-user detection algorithm which based on minimum mean square error (MMSE) algorithm. This algorithm by optimizing the sorting structure enables the receiver algorithm has better performan...
