High dynamic range infrared image, which is widespread in our lives, has becomea topic of the infrared image, so it is very necessary to study HDR image. Thisdissertation focuses on the enhancement of the details of the compressed image.The main contents are as follows:(1) Introduce the character and some objective evaluation standards of the infraredimage and the new directions of the infrared image—HDR image. The acquirementand current researches of HDR image are also discussed in this section.(2) Based on the facts that the modern thermal cameras have high dynamic range(up to12bits or16bits), and traditional display devices have only256gray levels,which cannot represent all the information available in the original digital data,compression is needed. In this dissertation, we propose the bilateral filter to layer theimage to base layer image and detail layer image and then use the HE algorithm todispose the base layer but the result image is blurry. So, we apply the CLAHEalgorithm and Gamma algorithm, which is the innovation of this dissertation. Then weuse the simple linear fusion method to combine the former two images, to improve thequality of the image, applying the wavelet technology to fusion the two images, andthrough the experiment, the final image obtain more details so as to see more clearly.(3) Considering the current single processor performance cannot satisfylarge-scale scientific and engineering calculation and commercial application needs,Parallel processing algorithm is to be used in this paper. This algorithm can improveefficiency without lose the detail of the image.
