Compared with passive matrix organic light emitting display (PMOLED), activematrix organic light emitting display (AMOLED) not only has the advantages of lowerdriving voltage, lower power consumption, higher resolution and multi-gray levels, longservice life but also has the advantages of self-luminous, higher brightness, highercontrast, colourful, wide viewing angle, faster response, can be made on the flexiblepanel and using temperature range largely etc, which are AMOLED`s inherentcharacteristics. More importantly, AMOLED peripheral driving circuit can be integratedon the display panel. So this can greatly reduces leads of the display screen, lowering thecost of products, in the same time, improving the stability of the display screen.Because InGaZnO thin film transistor (a-IGZO TFT) is amorphous and has highermobility(μ>10cm2/Vs), steep sub-threshold slope and lower cut off current, it is suitablefor fabrication the large area AMOLED pixel driving circuit and the peripheral drivingcircuit. This article is to design the peripheral driving circuit of AMOLED using a-IGZOTFTs and simulation with Hspice.Firstly, this article describes the development history of display technology,research situation and a-IGZO TFT`s fundamental features. In addition, the maincontents of this work were proposed. And then, basic logic gate circuit constituted byNMOS which for a particular structure are going to be analyzed, elaborate their workingprinciple in detail. Then design of inverter, NAND gate, NOR gate, transmission gate,triple state gate and shift register based on the above. In the same time, design theparameters of basic logic circuits. Make assessment with the performance of the circuit according to the Hspice simulation results. Finally Design out row peripheral drivercircuit and the column peripheral driver circuit constituted with a-IGZO TFTs.The simulation results of the circuit further confirmed the correctness of its function,the actual timing of the lines driving circuit under simulation show that the circuit workswell, and has laid a good groundwork for design of the complete peripheral drivingcircuit.
