Design Of Data Monitor System For Wlan

WLAN has been widely used and become a primary trend in current network development because of its high speed, easy installation and flexible network deployment. However due to the openness of wireless wave propagation, data monitor on WLAN becomes vulnerable and WLAN security encounters tremendous challenge. Data monitor allows people to monitor internet crimes over WLAN. Now current wireless data monitor techniques will only work with shared network and data analysis also stays at transport layer which is not convenient for examining. But restoring information technique of content analysis is able to analyze information in application layer. Based on application layer protocol, data packet is recombined to restore original information that is ready for users to read and find suspicious activities.This paper combines monitor techniques and restoring information techniques of content analysis, providing a data monitor system design for WLAN. This system has two important uses:one is that network administrator can check internet visiting statistics and log analysis; the other is to obtain evidence of WLAN network crimes. Additionally WLAN data monitor system can be used together with monitoring agent to remote monitor communication in internal wireless network by information diffusion mechanism of monitoring agent. This system adopts the idea of middle man attacking, utilizing multi-thread and multi-buffer techniques to realize data monitor, data analysis and information restoring in a switched WLAN.
