With the core of computer network technology, The development of information superhighway which supported by the software technology has broken through the traditional management mode, and it makes our lives changed greatly. It is undoubted that the shareware as a kind of knowledge product gathered the developers’ arduous labor, however, the sharewares usually encounter to be cracked in the reality, which injure the developers’ legal right and it may harmful to the development of the software industry. Due to the huge profit-driven, the copyright piracy and crack of sharewares increasing day by day. Currently, people start to pay more and more attention on the issue of copyright protection.Aimed at the demand from the developer to protect their shareware, this article brings forward a registration protection project with harddisk serial number as well as the computer ID based on the MD5 encryption arithmetic is proposed. Specially, the paper introduces the overall design plan for software registration module, analyzes the software registration module design from the aspects of realizing the encryption of serial number, opening email program to sent registration documents, using registration documents and users" names to generate registration number, registering program and generating registration information, etc. In addition, this paper discusses the design method of program starting module and presents part of the related codes.Finally,based on the registration protection methods bring forward by this article, a kind of sharing software registration module has been designed and verified by testi ng. Now in the author’s working area, the examination system which was based on this software registration module has been comprehensively promoted and won the praise of users in Zhejiang province.
