Virtual Driving Simulator has a simple convenient and reusable characteristics, very convenient to the driving safety and the study of the traffic conditions. Realistic and intelligent of virtual driving scenarios has great influences on the realism and authenticity of the experimental results. The study on autonomous virtual vehicles of the virtual driving scenarios has drawn enough attention. The autonomous virtual vehicle is driven by a virtual driver, and that we build the virtual driver’s congnitve mechanism based on the true driver’s cognitive mechanism from the view of the artificial intelligence, which enriches the study methods on the autonomous virtual vehicles. Meanwhile, when the autonomous virtual vehicle is driving in the virtual driving scenarios, which will encounter a variety of information because that the scenarios is comples and dynamic at any time and we make some studies on the multisource information in the virtual scenarios which can better improve the intelligence of the autonomous virtual vehicle.In this paper, a real driver’s cognitive mechanisms and behavioral levels is studied, and on this basis we build the virtual driver’s cognitive mechanism of the autonomous virtual vehicle. We make some decomposition of the driver’s complex driving tasks from the strategic, the tactical, and the operational three levels, to build a framework for the autonomous virtual vehicle.We make some analysis using two methods on building autonomous virtual vehicles, which are the agent in the virtual intelligent enviroments and the CA is the transport simulation. In the top of this base we propose a general model of autonomous intelligent vehicles, and deeply propose the perceive mechanism and the decision mechanism of the autonomous virtual vehicle. Then the multisource information in the virtual driving scenarios is classified and defined, and presented a fusion mehod by fuzzy mathematics on the multisource information. At last we use virtual reality technology to build a plaform of the autonomous virtual vehicles and make some simulation on it.
