The technological innovations of the mobile communication network provide conditions and basis for the surge in mobile data services. With the growth of data services, it has higher requirements for capacity and coverage performance of mobile network, in the future study of mobile communications, except research for OFDM technology,MIMO technology and the ascendant femtocell, Relay, as one of the candidate technologies in the future mobile communication network, has also been studied extensively.During the course in studying of relay, the idea of cooperative diversity put forward relay from a simple zoom kind to a more advanced direction,3GPP describes the classification of the relay in the R9 36-814 document, and gives the system-level simulation parameters. It is a hot spot for selection algorithms in the relay studies, although 3GPP makes relay as the candidate for the next-generation communication standards, relay in more than two hop is still out of the standards, most studies lie in the range of two hops. This paper learns from the idea of IEEE802.16 multi-hop relay to the LTE-A system, and studies path selection algorithms. The existing typical path algorithms are based on distance, path loss, signal-to-noise ratio and numbers of hops, but as it’s different from multi-hop network and two-hop network, except for the last one having thinking of multi-hop,other algorithms are considered under two-hop situation, the selected path can only be partial optimal path, rather than the best path. This article draws on the end-to-end bit error rate selection algorithm to calculate the bit error rate of multi-hop path, which is proposed to resolve the existing problems in the two-hop relay partial optimal path selection algorithms.
