Reasearch On The Authenticated Encryption Technogy In CCSDS

Space communication is mainly used in military, political, business and other fields. Space communication is important for people’s livelihood and its speed of development is very fast. Space technology more and more depends on space communication system, and the security requirement of space communications systems is getting higher and higher. Information security is mainly reflected by the information confidentiality, integrity and non-repudiation. To meet the requirement of these security attributes, and with the development of modern cryptography, cryptography has also been widely applied into space communications system. Firstly, authenticated encryption algorithm is studied in this paper, then the authenticated encryption schemes of AOS protocol, TC protocol SCPS protocol is deeply studied in this paper. The first two protocols belong to the data link layer, while SCPS protocol belongs to the network layer.Authenticated encryption algorithms ensure the security of space communication data, based on which this paper proposes a process of cryptographic protocol. In this process, registered users are anonymous for the CA. Besides, the processes not only encrypt messages without hash function and redundant function, but also can identitify sender’s identity and data integrity.The AOS recommendation is mainly used for tracking and data relay satellite system.For the AOS protocol data, the choice of protection level, encryption service, authentication service and key management are summarized in this paper. Telecontrol is a space communication system data transmission standard formulated by the CCSDS recommendation. This paper analyzes the CCSDS TC data authentication security situation, and summarizes the technical methods of authentication protection for TC protocol data.SCPS-SP is the unique protocol in the network layer which is related to the guarantee of the space communication security. For the drawbacks of self-adaptive level of security, anti-replay attack and traffic analysis attack, an improved multi-level security adaptive SCPS-SP is proposed in this paper. The GCM authenticated encryption algorithm is combined in the improved protocol to improve the safety performance of SP protocol. The simulation results indicate that the improved protocol can meet the data protection requirement of space communication systems, and the performance has been improved significantly.
