Microscopic cell scanning system, a product with the development of science and technology,it combines the knowledge of all aspects of optics, electronics and computer technology. Thesystem has broad application prospects of teaching and research, and has become an importantscientific equipment for biological research, and has a certain social and economic benefits. On thebasis of full understanding of the current domestic and international development status of the cellscanner system, using the theory of intelligent image processing and pattern recognition, a series ofstudies on the cell scanner’s key technology and experimental analysis are discussed detailedly inthe entire experiment, and experiments show the feasibility.The research of this subject focus on sharpness measurement and fault-tolerant automaticfocusing system. The paper refers to the edge detection method, the classification principles ofpattern recognition and focusing search algorithms. The paper focuses on the following aspects:1. Through the comparison of several traditional sharpness measurement methods, the paperpresents a new sharpness measurement method. Using this new method to measure the image’ssharpness, the classification model of the clear image and blurred image is established and thecut-off point of the clear and blurred image isdetermined.2. Based on the bayes theory and support vector machine classification model, the classificati-on model is established. The paper analyze the feasibility with a large number of experimental dataand compare their advantages and disadvantages.3. The paper describes the hardware architecture, software design, the framework of the entiresystem and the implementation steps of the system. The paper focuses on the design of focusingscheme, it mainly includes the focusing system’s hardware architecture, working principle andfocusing search algorithms. And the experimental study has been done from two aspects ofaccuracy and time.4. Through analyzing the reasons from three aspects of the accuracy, system fault tolerance andefficiency, the paper presents the focusing system’s optimization.The paper conducts in-depth discussion and study to the cell scanner from two aspects oftheory and application. It presents a new sharpness measurement method. It is the first time thatfault tolerant technology is applied to the focusing system. And100magnification blood cellautomatic focusing system is established. At present, this study has been used in the Nanchang biotecomtany’s digital blood cell analyzer DMA-5106. It achieves the desired research purpose.
