With the rapid development of modern science, it has brought unprecedentedopportunities to the wireless communication services. Mobile games, regardless ofonline or single, are deeply loved by the majority of mobile phone users, because theusers can enter the game anywhere anytime, using of "fragments" time to relax mood,and to slowdown tense of work, study and living rhythm.With the continual update of hardware configuration, the quality of mobile gamesis greatly increased. Close attention was paid to its relative low development cost andhigh return. Inventors have entered the mobile game industry. While the consumergroups of mobile users still have huge increase, mobile gamesĀ· market potential isenormous.One of the key of this paper is how to develop a commercial mobile game withJAVA ME technology. The other is how to design a mature and high efficientdevelopment model and development framework.In this paper, research significance, background and current situations of mobilegames are introduced firstly. Secondly, classifications of games, brief introduction ofARPG, development platforms of mobile games and JAVA ME architecture are asfollow. Thirdly, the procedures of requirement, design, development, porting andtesting of mobile games are emphasized, based on a commercial game named BM(blademaster) ArousalĀ· which I took part in. Lastly, I summarize someexperiences of mobile games development. For example how to reduce theworkload of programmers, coordinate the participants of the team, increase efficiencyusing development tools(script editor, map editor, stage editor, animation editor).
