LOD technology has become a hot research field today. It is the key ofthree-dimensional virtual reality and visualization. It has a significant effect on solving theconflict between complexity of scene model and interaction in real-time. Calling models isone of the key issues of LOD technology. In the past, the conditions of calling models arebased on the feature of people’s eyes without considering the factor of people’s subjectivepsychology. For this problem, proposing a calling models algorithm based on theconditions of user interest and distance.Firstly, analyze the factors which can reflect user interest in three-dimensional scene.Find that user’s interest degree can be reflected by the browsing frequency and time whichuser spends on the object in the scene. Then, proposing a method to calculate user’sinterest degree. This method of calculation uses the weight vector to express based onthose two factors.Secondly, study the select conditions and the calling method for the LOD models inthe three-dimensional scene. Give the definition of user interest constraint and the callingmethod for the LOD models. Study the core issue which is involved in calling LODmodels. Give the appropriate method of calculation. Proposing the calling algorithm ofLOD models based on user interest constraints, called ICC-L algorithm. Adding thedistance constraints to this algorithm, propose the calling algorithm of LOD models basedon the double constraints of user interest and distance, called MCC-L algorithm.Finally, use the users’visit data in the scene and the above method to do theexperiment. The effectiveness and practicality of the calculate method of user interest andthe calling algorithm are verified through the experiment.
