With the rapid development of mobile information services, the technology of2D bar code hasbeen widely used in many fields, such as automated industries, circulation of commodities, mobilee-commerce applications and so on. However, in complex applications, the degradation phenomenonof barcode image is often occur due to the shaking camera, rapid changing light, which is notconducive to correctly identify the bar code information. Taking DataMatrix bar code as an researchexample, we analyze the degradation causes of blurred bar code image and acquire the goodanti-blurred processing result in this paper. The main work is divided into the several following parts:Firstly, three types of degradation phenomena encountered in specific applications aresummarized, that is, motion blur type, defocus blur type and gaussian blur type, according to thecharacter and code system standard of Data Matrix barcode.Secondly, an adaptive degraded types identification of blurred barcode images is proposed in thepaper. The frequency spectrum in different types of degradation for blurred bar code images isanalyzed to find their differences. And combined with the invariant moment theory of degradationcharacteristics, the index-value of the corresponding degradation characteristics is obtained.Then, the problem of blurred bar code images restoration is researched and analyzed, and anaccurate estimation for convolution kernel model parameters is given.At last, restoration algorithm based on improved Incremental Wiener Filtering is used fordebluring the degraded bar code images. Based on the classical Wiener filtering algorithm, theiterative restored solution and additional regularization constraint are applied in the deblurred processin the algorithm, which can effectively improve the quality of image restoration.This experimental results show: compared to the classical Wiener filtering algorithm, theanti-noise performance of the improved incremental Wiener filter algorithm proposed in this paper ismore excellent, which suffices the requirements of practical application.
