With the popularity of the Internet and the prevailing of multimedia technologies,digitalization has become the mainstream of daily life and work element. The newtechnologies digital watermark, which used to implement copyright protection andinformation security in the network has been appeared. Compared to traditional protection,digital watermark technology is through a specific algorithm embed the watermarkinformation to the host information. This technology could not affect the value of originalinformation, but also through extract the embedded watermark detector information toachieve the purpose of information hiding; copyright protection and information tamperdetection. The study of this topic keeps up the pace of development, which proposed a newwatermark algorithm. The work as follows:The present status of digital watermark and its fundamental principle are introduced firstin this paper, which include the concept of digital watermark, the theoretical framework,classification, applications, and common attacks etc. And then this paper demonstrated indetail the feasibility of watermark system design. We used the Arnold transformation topre-processing watermark image, combined with the DCT, the human visual system andimage texture and brightness characteristics to determine the embedding strength factor, basedon this we proposed a new kind of DCT watermark embedding and extracting algorithm andfurther simulation the algorithm based on Matlab. Simulation results demonstrate that thewatermark generated with the proposed algorithm is invisible and the watermarking scheme isrobust against common image processing operations, such as JPEG compression, filtering,Gaussian noise pollution, cropping and rotation and so on. The paper also proposed thefurther research work direction at last.
