As an impact of the continuously increasing sale volume of mobile terminaldevices using Android system, designing mobile terminal applications based onAndroid platform has become a trend. This paper is going to look back into thedeveloping history of mobile terminal platforms and to made contrastive analysis intothe regular progress of the mobile terminal platforms popular in market.Mobile terminal devices possess features like mobility, portability, intelligence,sensibility and24-hour network connectivity. These features perfectly fit for the“SoLoMo” demand of device carriers. The major part of this paper is concerning anAndroid application named “HotSpot” which was designed by author and combinesmultiple elements including mobility, sociality, geography, and time management.With the implementation of HotSpot, users can browse interesting pictures andtexts which record amusing incidents happening within specific time and specificplaces. Based on the user activities such as shared contents and published comments,HotSpot creates personal deeds for the users to review. The designing of HotSpotmainly involves the development of mobile terminal applications and thedevelopment of server applications. The development of terminal applications mainlyincludes the design, implementing and testing of user interface and related functionalmodules. The main body of this paper demonstrates the whole developing process ofterminal applications oriented to software engineering ideas and methods. Thedevelopment of server applications mainly refers to the construction of operatingenvironment and the development of Web Service.Because of the relatively small sizes, limited battery capacity and lowperformance, mobile terminal devices are particularly impacted by power drain andnetwork conditions. Thus mobile devices require optimizing the storage capacity, datetransferring efficiency, and network robustness of terminal applications. Byintegrating Web Service Technologies and JSON transmission format, HotSpot best minimizes the data transfers and storage contents, while in the other side maintainsthe compatibility of service interfaces. Therefore it effectively mitigates the networkburden and saves storage space. Meanwhile, author designed a framework formultithreading transmission resuming at break points. This paper will present theabove technical theories and will particularly describe related implementing solutions.At the last part of the paper, there is an analysis on the experiment data. Theanalysis proved that Multi-threaded breakpoint continuingly framework ensures thesuccess rate of transmitting large amount of data and improve the transmissionefficiency practically. And the demonstration effect showed that HotSpot system runswell.
