The phenomenon of two-phase flow has been existed widely in our daily life and industrial production process, therefore, the research for two-phase flow is more significant in practice. The phenomenon of two-phase flow is very complicated and flow regime has significant impact on flow characteristic, so it is considerable for the research of flow regime.The technology of electrical resistance tomography (ERT) is a method of getting the measured object field distribution information by changing of conductance, and it has been widely utilized by its unique advantage. With the development of science and technology, the technology of ERT has been widely applide in two-phase flow field and achieved certain results.Utilizing the ERT system, the gas-liquid flow inside the horizontal pipe has been measured, and the parameters of flow process has been abtained. In this paper, based on the research of ERT system for two-phase flow regime identification technique,a application software which have the function about data extraction, data analysis and flow regime identification on-line.Main tasks includs in below:(1) System design. The system of gas-liquid two-phase flow regime identification includes data acquisition module, data processing module and flow regime identification module. It achieves the function of flow regime data collection, data processing and flow regime identification.(2) The research of flow regime recgnition, which consist of the data preprocessing and the identification of flow regime. The feature extraction methods of mathematical statistics and wavelet analysis have been used in the preprocessing of data. Meanwhile the feature extraction vector which has been treated as the foundation for flow regime discrimination has been obtained; the flow regime identification achieve the function by the training and testing the artificial neural network model. In the paper the BP neural network model, Elman neural network model and RBF neural network model to discriminate were used. Finally, verification software functions through the experiment, using four typical flow patterns respectively are full pipe flow, bubbly flow, plug flow and slug flow in the flow.(3) Finishing the function of software. Software functions includs three parts: the system operating platform, program designing of data acquisition and processing and database management. The program of LabVIEW starts from simple functions, which get each function module, and ultimately the function of online flow regime identification is achieved.
