There exists an phenomenon that students of arts usually perform poorly inmath study after beingseparated form science students. Many math teachers think it difficult to teachstudetns of arts, as a result, they are relutant to be teahcers of them. Objectivelyspeaking, the difference of performance in math study between science students andstudents of arts is existed. Superficially,studetns of arts attriubte poor base and lackof interest to the failure of math study, however, for most of the studetns of arts,they are willing to improve their performace in math. We have to admit that thenumber of students of arts who have a passion for math is rare, so there is somedifficulty in math teaching and some key senior high schools face the sameproblem,too.As a result, according to studetns’ cognitive level, to learn studentsmathematics learning psychology,to master mathematics learning rule,to improvethe quality of mathematics teaching and students mathematics literacy that is ourteachers’ common goal.Base on the thinking of this phenomenon, professor Yupingfrom Nanjing Normal University put forward the theory of CPFS. He points put thatstudents’ CPFS structure is the main factor that affects their math learningabilities.Therefore, by strenthening the concept and proposition in math teaching,wecan help them basically understand concept itself and the form series of conceptsand proposition,to improve the students’ CPF structure,to cultivate excellentmathematics problem solving ability, to enjoy the aesthetic feeling of mathematicsand releasig their potential through studying.Based on the conclusion of theexperts’opinions about the present situation of the problem, analysis of thedifference of learning ability among senior three students of arts and students’CPFSstructure, the paper put forward the view that it is by improving and developing theCPFS structure of students of arts that we can improve the math problem solvingability of students of arts.Combining the practical teaching process to students of arts of high school, thepaper discussed the present situation and problems emerging in math teaching first. Then, the paper introduced the advaned theory of math teaching—CPFS and putforward the suggtions to improve present teaching suitation of students ofarts.Finally, the paper demonstrated its view that the problem solving ability ofstudents of arts can be improved by improving and developing their CPFS structureby conducting experiments.
