The rapid development of the Internet has made China entered into aninformation-cored new era with information as the core—Network Times.Network has become the important channel for college students to acquireknowledge and various information. The advent of Network times greatlyinfluence the contemporary college students’ outlook on world, life and valuesmaking our nation’s college students’ mainstream ideology education facing severechallenges. How to make the college students expose to Cyber information andconcents more efficiently in the new era context, start reform as well as pass on theright value and ideology. How to strengthen college students’ mainstream ideologyeducation, help them establish right three outlooks. Training college students forthe qualified builder and reliable successor of the cause of the socialism withspecific Chinese features has become a very important and imperative question inthe field of ideology education.The paper has detailed investigation about this question which divided intofour parts. The first part is about the scientific definition of concept and categoryconcerning this study, as well as the interpretates and Combs of the basic theoryconcerning the ideology and network times.The second part of the paper sums up traditional education of CollegeStudents’ mainstream ideology. To explain the necessity and urgency to realize theera transform of college students’ mainstream ideology education, on the whole,the mode of the traditional mainstream ideology education characterized by:authority status, advanced target, simple method and extensive political content asso on. The traditional paradigm can provide positive factors of experience andreference for our further education mode. But there are increasing in educationconcept, methods and contents. We must achieve the changes of mainstreamideology education when we face a series of difficulties of the traditional mainstream ideology education in network times.The third part of the paper analyzes the mainstream ideology education innetwork times and its necessarily and basic conditions to achieve transformation.The mainstream ideology education must be faced with more impact of diversifiedschool thoughts, facing more complicated educational objects and environment,but it is difficult to meet these challenges properly. Things are always unity oftwo sides, the development of network not only brings challenges of the traditionalmainstream ideology education; but also new opportunities and conditions. Whichmake it possible for mainstream ideology education to transform from traditionalto modern forms.The forth part of the paper analyzes the necessity and feasibility of the collegestudents’ mainstream ideology education in the network times. It concludes withstrategies and specific methods to solve the contemporary college students’mainstream ideology education. Respectively, it discusses four aspects to try tofind a comprehensive and effective mainstream ideology education mechanism inthe network times: adhering to leading the social thoughts with the socialist corevalue system, strengthening construction of network culture in the field of Marxistideology education, improving teaching methods about Ideological and PoliticalEducation through the main channel of the ideological education, creating a goodsocial environment for the mainstream ideology education.
