A new round of mathematics curriculum reform is very different from the previousmathematics curriculum of high school from the idea, content and enforcement. So as torealize the goal of the education teaching reform of mathematics, teachers are the key andteaching is the main method, while the teaching design is the precondition and the importantfoundation of realizing the course objectives and implementing teaching. The teaching designis successful or not will affect the feasibility and effectiveness of the teaching activitiesdirectly. The enforcement of the new curriculum will ultimately fulfilled into the classroomteaching, and appropriate teaching design determines the direction of classroom teaching. Theeducation concept of new curriculum will ultimately be realized in the classroom teachingthrough the teaching design.Just like other mathematical abilities, students’ mathematics application consciousnessand application capabilities are the important parts of mathematical literacy. Functions have adomination position in the middle school and the application of function is always veryimportant, however, students feel difficult and their thinking is not clear during learning thispart. Which makes the new curriculum reform going not well and cultivating students’ abilitybecoming empty talk. In the actual situation of students, most of them tend to rote memorizethe nature of all sorts of functions and can not apply knowledge in specific situation well.Many students not only have a shallow understanding of the application of function but alsofeel dull in learning this part, and then form a kind of fear of mathematics. A polarization inmath developed rapidly in grade one in senior middle school. Therefore, how to let theteaching of function of the application more close to the students’ actual application and leadto students’ learning desire according to the requirement of the concept of the new curriculum,is the problem that the broad educational workers should think about.On the basic of the importance of teaching design and the application of function, weneed to study how to design teaching of the application of function in high school under theconcept of the new curriculum to promote students’ better understanding and mastering of thefunction. In this text I choose the application of function as the entry point, select the conceptof new curriculum as the guidance, and pick the teaching design as the main line. This articleis divided into five parts: The first part is the background, present situation and ideas of theresearch. The second part summarizes the meaning, function and theoretical basis of teaching design based on the theory of literature review, and elaborates the concept of the newcurriculum from the view of students, teaching view and the transformation of teachers’ role.The third part is the front analysis of the teaching design. The fourth part analyzes theteaching design of the application of function under the concept of the new curriculum. Thelast part gives three teaching design cases.I attempt to give some suggestions on the teaching strategies of the application offunction through studying on teaching design of the application of function under the conceptof the new curriculum. I hope to provide reference for subsequent research and theoreticalbasis for front-line teachers, and to promote the improvement of teaching quality.
