The thesis makes an extensive investigation of primary and secondary school principals’ professional ethics in Liaoning Province using questionnaire method to analyze the principals’ professional ethical status in the context of a harmonious society. By analyzing and studying data of the two hundred and twenty four valid questionnaires which are from in Dalian, Dandong, Shenyang and so on, results are found:overall it is higher and there is little difference among moral cognition, moral emotions, moral will and moral behavior; professional moral behavior has low score relatively which indicates that ethical practice issues of primary and secondary school principals are more prominent. By analyzing the specific factors, we can see that there is disharmony within the individual dimensions. In the aspect of professional moral behavior, there are significant differences between primary school principals and secondary school principa、Principals and vice principals, and the former are all better than the latter. In the professional moral emotions, there are significant differences between headmistress and male heads、20-35、36-49years old and over fifty years old principals, and headmistress invests more than male heads、the former two age groups invests more than the latter groups. In the aspect of moral will,principals who have worked below three years got the highest score、principals who have worked four to six years got the lowest score, and there is significant difference between them.There are two aspects of reasons. One is the own factor of primary and secondary school principals including moral consciousness、deviation of moral values and moral apathy; The other is social factors including the lack of external restraint system、the temptation of adverse social and candidate evaluation mechanism constraint. To solve the above problems, the study proposes the countermeasures to improve the professional ethical status of primary and secondary school principals:perfect moral system construction、strengthening the principal moral self-discipline、promoting evaluation mechanisms reform and optimizing the moral environment on campus.Exploring the harmonious state of primary and secondary school principals has great significance to strengthen the principal moral self-discipline, reduce or even avoid the occurrence of ethical misconducts and give full play to the role of principals of the moral example. At the same time, it also provides a strong moral protection mechanism to build a harmonious society.
