Abstract/Summary:
As the New Curriculum Standard (2002) was promulgated, the educational reform of our country is more and more mature. The new English Curriculum Standard had a more specific rule and guidance for high school students’ English skills. However, our country’s high school students’writing ability is relatively the weakest among the four basic skills of English (listen, speak, read and write). As an important step of English writing teaching, whether the writing evaluation is correctly carried out has a direct impact on students’English writing level.on this, combining the domestic and foreign researches on writing evaluation, based on Humanism、Constructivism and Multiple Intelligent Theory, the writer found that developmental education evaluation is more suitable for our students. Therefore, the students of two classes of grade three in Dalian Information High School were selected as the research subjects, of which Class5Grade3was the experimental class and Class6Grade3was the controlled class. The pretest data of two classes showed there was almost no difference in students’English writing ability. During the experiment, the writer applied the following strategies:the incentive assessment, multiple subjects’evaluation, the classification of marking standards and the portfolio assessment. In order to promote the development of English writing teaching and improve students’writing ability. Both at the beginning and the end of the experiment, the students in two classes all took part in the pre-test and post-test and finished the questionnaire investigation. During the experiment, the writer also randomly selected20students to have the interview. The results of the experiment and the analysis of the data showed the following:the implementation of developmental evaluation can effectively stimulate students’interest in writing; students can form the good habit of self-reflection and self-modification; the students’writing ability has been improved. However, in spite of gaining the expected results, there still exist some problems in the research due to the limitation of objective factors. So the writer will continuously improve and perfect the writing teaching in the future and hope this research can lay the foundation of further research on this topic.
