On The Occupation Languor Of College Counselors From The Perspective Of Harmonious Campus

In the4th Plenum of the16th CPC Central Committee, the establishment of harmonious society has become the strategic goal. University is an important component of the social system. It assumes the responsibility of building a team of talented personnel. Therefore, university plays an important role in the process of establishing the harmonious socialist society. Instructors are the main force in terms of the ideological and political education for the students. They are the guiders for the students. However, the languor phenomenon among the instructors appears frequently due to their overloading work, confusion about the role positioning, great mental pressure and some other factors. It makes an impact on the personal development of instructors, the grown-up of students, the effect of ideological and political education, the construction of the instructor team, and the establishment of harmonious campus.The paper makes an effort to analyze the reasons for the languor from the perspective of three stages in instructor’s career based on the practical experiences of my own as an instructor. The paper also puts forward the measures to prevent and overcome the languor.The paper has four parts as follows:The first part mainly illuminates the influence of instructors in the process of building the harmonious campus. The function of instructors in the ideological and political education is irreplaceable. They assume the core role in the administration of the campus and the establishment of the campus culture. Instructors exert a special influence on the education of weak group and mental health.The second part puts forward the current situation of the languor among instructors and its correspondent representation and harmful influence. With the random investigation, the paper shows the current situation of the languor among instructors, and illustrates six representations of the languor, and also analyzes the negative impact for instructors, students and school.The third part analyzes the reasons for the languor in terms of the beginning, middle and late stages in the instructor’s career. As for the beginning stage, the main reasons lie on the great pressure, incorrect choice for profession and confusion about the instructor positioning. As for the middle stage, the main reasons lie on misidentification, career bottleneck and the lack of professional knowledge construction. As for the late stage, the main reasons lie on the choke point of career and the lost of motive power.The fourth part mainly puts forward the ways of preventing and overcoming the languor of the instructors from the following aspects:enhancing their political and personal abilities, cultivating their mental quality, strengthening their career planning, establishing a profession as instructors, and improving the methods of assessment and evaluation of instructors.
