The traditional class in primary schools is a closed teaching system with teachers, students and teaching materials. With unvarying and isolated teaching methods, contents and modes, teaching in such classes usually neglects fostering students’ability while feeding students with knowledge. Ecology describes a state of existence, and class ecology is a general term for the most common state of existence of classes, of which the highest form is ecology class with the optimal teaching effect. The goal of our teaching reform, to cultivate the most distinguished students, corresponds with the purport of ecology class. The ecology English class of primary schools requires the essential transformation from the traditional class to the modern ecology class. As the key link of teaching in a school, classroom teaching ensures substantially the improvement of teaching quality, and even the success of teaching reforms. Therefore, constructing ecology class has become crucial in the process of teaching reform and quality-oriented education.In this thesis the teaching mode of ecology class is constructed theoretically, of which the basic elements include environment and biological clock in teaching, teaching design, teaching activities, class evaluation, classroom culture, teaching effect, and guidance and introspection after class. Empirical study is the key and creative point of this thesis, with the two-way mode of applying theories to experiments and verifying theories with experiments. The emperical study of constructing the ecology English class of primary schools in this thesis is conducted based on the Fifth Emulation Symposium of English Teaching in Primary Schools. Through studies on the three stages of classroom teaching, namely, the leading, the teaching steps, and the introspection and feedback, we find the key links of ecology English class of primary schools, and have carried out necessary ecological implementation and introspection of these key links. With the ecological conception in teaching, we have won the first prize in the national teaching contest, which suggests that the ecology English class of primary schools is quite effective.This thesis, based on theoretical and emperical studies.comes to the conclusion that giving priority to the student-orientedness and features of classroom teaching of primary schools is crucial in constructing and implementing the ecology English class of primary schools.
