Abstract/Summary:
With the pace of accession to the WTO, higher education services market of Chinahas largely opened according to the commitments in trade in services. The practices oftrade in higher education services in Shandong Province achieved remarkable successwhile the theories of trade in higher education services are remain to be developed. Thissituation reflects the theoretical and empirical research lagging behind the practice inservice trade field. In this paper, I applied the methods of documentary analysis,statistical analysis and comparative study of comparative advantages of the development ofhigher education consumption abroad in Shandong Province, and aimed at exploring theefficient development strategies of developing supplies of higher education consumptionabroad in Shandong province.The implication of Trade in higher education services is the import and export ofhigher education services between countries with economic purposes. I did the research onthe following five aspects of Shandong Province: scale and quality of higher education,the scientific research capabilities and the explorative atmosphere, the structure ofprofessors and the stock human resources, history-culture and the geographic locationadvantages, economic development and the market system. In this paper, I concludedthat: trade in higher education services of in Shandong Province has clear comparativeadvantages. But the overall slow progress of international higher education service tradeand the obstruction of running mechanism result in the slowly growth of trade in highereducation services in Shandong province. In order to seek for a greater perspective of tradein higher education services in Shandong Province, the cooperation of government anduniversities is specially needed.
