October2003,General Secretary Hu Jintao proposed that carry on people-orientedpolicy,and establish a comprehensive,coordinated and sustainable scientific developmentconcept at The Third Plenary Session of the sixteen Communist Party of China《CPC CentralCommittee on improving the socialist market economy the decision of a certain number ofproblems》.People-oriented idea is the core of the scientific concept of development,andelevated to the strategic height as the guiding ideology of the society as a whole.Thepeople-oriented problem has become a hot issue in today’s theorists and real life.Moraleducation is the top priority in education field,and schools are the main positions of moraleducation.Since the adverse effects of traditional stereotypes in moral education,developmentof social reality as well as the lack of school moral education work,cause the phenomenon of“dehumanization” that is “materialized” in our school moral education. This article is basedon “people-oriented” spirit of the times and analyzed the materialized moral education,through the studies of the phenomenon and hazards of materialized moral education in ourschool.The article also explored the theoretical basis and practical opportunity of the moraleducation to shift from materialized to people-oriented,then called on the people-orientededucational philosophy and methods, and proposed specific ways to achieve this shift at last.The first part is an introduction that descussed the proposition of the problem and thetheoretical and practical significance of the topic,domestic and foreign researchstatus,research ideas and methods,and research focus on difficulties and innovations.The second part describes the connotations and characteristics of materialized andpeople-oriented moral education.In materialized moral education what the educators teach aredetached human nature and empty code of ethics.In the implementation of moral educationeducatees are not suject,and contrary to the unique processes and the rules of humannature.The characteristics of materialized moral education is:in the goals of moral education,adhering to the utilitarian value orientation;in the functions of moral education,emphasizingthe social function of moral education;in the content of moral education,detaching the livesand needs of the students;in the process of moral education,implantation is the main method;in the evaluation of moral education,the evaluations of subject and content are single.Inshort,people-oriented moral education starts from the realistic person,exerts the humansubjectivity and humane care,aims to people comprehensive development as the ultimate goal.The characteristics of people-oriented education is:starting from a realistic person;promotingtheir comprehensive development;insisting people-oriented idea through the moral education.The third part discusses phenomenon and hazards of the materialized moral education ofour school.The concrete manifestations of the phenomenon in the materialized moraleducation as follows:the social standard target system, neglect the realization of individualvalue;ignore the emotional identification,make fixed code of ethics as the moral content;scornthe educatees’ subjectivity,implantation is the main method,emphasis on theory and divorcedfrom practice,the content of moral evaluation is moral awareness.The materialized moraleducation is not conducive to the comprehensive development of the educatees and theexertion of effectiveness of moral education and the implementation of “people-oriented” idea in scientific development concept.The fourth part explores the theoretical basis and practical opportunity of the moraleducation to shift from materialized to people-oriented.First of all,from philosophy,psychology,ethics,and education by multi-angle describing its theoretical basis.Secondly,fromthe needs of the comprehensive development, the demands of the reformation of the currentstatus of moral education,the calls of the healthy development of market economy,and theconformation to the requirements of scientific development concept "people-oriented" thesefour aspects analyzes its realistic opportunity.The fivth part discusses the specific implementation approaches for the people-orientedmoral education. Achieve the shift from materialized to people-oriented moral education muststart from human moral nature and enhance students’ virtue;aim to practice moral life;find outthe students’ multi-angle needs and emotions as the driving force;strengthen the educators’humane care,as the basic means to build a harmonious relationship between teachers andstudents;improve the moral evaluation in order to promote the developmental evaluation;andalso optimize the education environment,which includes politics, economics,culture,community,family, mass media;and promote the formation of the social environment and theschool moral education work together.Finally,summary in the last section summarizes the key point of this article,account ofthe limitations of the research work and propose comments or suggestions of future work.
