The development of information technology today impresses people andchanges people’s daily life in many aspects. The success of technology makes peoplebelieve that something should be done in education through the use of technology.Meanwhile, it really offers the potential from the perspective of modern educationaltechnology.Social development, especially the development of Information Technology, has ledto the rise of an unprecedented number of research projects conducted in the field ofMachine Translation (hereafter, MT) and Computer Assisted Translation (hereafter, CAT).Now, CAT has been widely utilized as a reference tool in the practice of softwarelocalizations and technological translations.Accordingly, in this paper, a survey of CAT teaching of colleges in China has beenmade from the view of teachers, students and institutes respectively. Based on the survey,a strategic model aimed at improving the teaching efficiency is also made. In this case, this research is aimed at bridging the gap between the status-quo of CAT teaching and itsideally practical process by designing an instructional script based on Project BasedLearning (hereafter, PBL) Theory via a case study of Déjà Vu X teaching. We will try to answer the following questions specifically in this thesis.1) What is the status-quo of CAT teaching?2) In what way do the computer tools affect translators?3) In what way should CAT be taught? In this way, the work of this thesis will be combined with theory of instructionaldesign and constructivist learning, especially the PBL theory, trying to give itsimprovement proposal about CAT teaching and to design and develop a teaching process(presented in the form of instructional design script) based on PBL in order to benefit andinspire current CAT teaching.
