High school mathematics teaching reform in china is pushing a nationwide in the new century, new courses advocate new ways of learning, which require teachers’ constant guide and instruct students to take the initiative to study, and internalize part of the student experience system or become students’study habits, it has Established what can affect the learning styles of lifelong learning right or individual learning styles. Changed the concept of education, researching on effective teaching methods and models, are hot issues in mathematics education research, however, Collaborative teaching and inquiry teaching is a hot topic in recent years.Group inquiry teaching method is a combination or deep of two kinds of teaching methods, is a stressed the cooperation and participation of the students experience, and under the guidance and instruction of teachers with teaching of explorative and creative activities. It is an important way to promote students’development or cultivate students ability and it can also improve the quality of students.The paper describes research on inquiry teaching high school mathematics team background, discuss high school group theory basis and practice of inquiry teaching method based. It makes analysis of group characteristics whose inquiry teaching in high school mathematics teaching, team-building strategies, design requirements of inquiry problems, teacher strategies, control strategy of teachers, and so on. Using case study method shows the way of group inquiry teaching method in practice, and using data analysis method analyses the teaching results. It draws conclusions about the group inquiry teaching method.
