Contemporary College Students’ Personality Development Research

Personality quality is an important part of the overall quality of contemporary college students. With the social development and progress, and the ever-increasing speed pace of life, competition is more intense, the development and improvement of personality quality plays an essential role on students’generating. With the social transition, China’s educational reform is further deepening, the current direction of educational development is developping from imparting knowledge to building capacity, from the traditional ideological and moral education to the modern personality-quality’s education. University of ideological and political education is an important part of the transformation of the entire school’s moral education, and personality development is ever-increasingly placed in an important position in university education work. Therefore, the college students need to be trained to become defenders of the socialist core value system and leaders of advanced ideological and cultural development. The work of personality cultivation of college students is a good personality, excellent character, entrepreneurial spirit, innovative ideology is the important guarantee to achieve this goal. However, in view of current college students’personality development and the levels of personality education, presently the personality cultivation of domestic colleges and universities is still not systematic and in-depth, but also can’t adapt to the era developing and the needs of personnel training, such as the lack of correct guidance on concept, so it can’t guide students to change their ideas fundamentally, can’t be closely integrated with the social realities, can’t well resolve the pressure of various aspects for students (such as school work, employment, etc.), can’t help the student to vent their bad emotions reasonably and correctly, cure the symptoms not the disease, lack concern for the special group,special problems and special situation.Facing the complex realities, this paper starts from the people thought of Marxism and Western personality theory, to explore and interpret the theory origin of personality cultivation, to make the ideological and political education of personality cultivation theory to further enriched and in-depth. And based on the current status quo of the development of personality characteristics of college students and college students’ personality cultivation to analyze, combined Chinese and Western personality theory, trying to explore measures and approachs on personality cultivating of college students, in order to enhance the targeted and effective of ideological and political education on college and university students’personality shaping and all-round development.
