| This paper focuses on Mongolian education in Auhan Banner of eastern Inner Mongolia, to reveal historical changes of the education in the area. The education went through three shifts, namely the first one was from that ran in Mongolian language to that ran in Chinese language, the second one from Chinese to Mongolian and the third from Mongolian to Chinese, in the period from1947to1994. The author analyses reasons for the shifts, and points out that the last shift resulted into amnesia of Mongolian language as mother tongue in the community. The paper consists of introduction, main body(four chapters) and conclusion. Chapter one talks on historical and social background of the banner, chapter two and three discusse the changing processes of Mongolian education in the community, and chapter three analyses the reasons for the changes and their impact to social life as a whole in Auhan Banner. |
