By using methods of documentation, Bibliometrics method, comparative analysis and logical reasoning, and based on bibliometric laws and features analysis of799Tai Chi research papers and4896citations published on203periodicals during2000and2010in China, this paper draws conclusions on the past and present of Tai Chi research, and then further development advice is given.The study points out nine gists,①The amount of papers on Tai Chi research published is increasing;(2)The geographical distribution of writers covers most part of China;③The average time delay of publishment is4.65months;④Fund papers met its sharp increase in2004, the larger fund attracted periodical Journal of Shanghai Institute of Physical Education and Journal of Beijing Institute of Physical Education;⑤In the schools of Tai Chi chose,24style simplified Tai Chi took the percent of63.⑥Common age of essay writers ranges from31to40, with men the most, masters a half and lecturers49%.⑦48.69%of these papers have co-authors, co-degree is1.80, either different major but the same work unit or different major and different work unit, lacking of core authors and including discreteness than supposed.⑧The average citation amount is6.13. Most quotation styles are included, but foreign language literature lacks, limited in English and Japanese.⑨The maximum quotation of year is the third year after the paper was published. The effective half of Tai Chi periodicals is4.2years, the Price index was59.97%, but both index of Tai Chi is7.45years and32.03%.⑩Ppers on Tai Chi mainly focus on8field.
