The2008Beijing Olympic Games to carry out China’s sports has brought greatopportunities and challenges, the rapid increase of the large-scale stadiums and the event willbe held led to the development of local economy, especially the sports industry, the promotionof sports infrastructure, public construction of cultural facilities and the development of masssports and fitness. However, due to the long construction period of large-scale stadiums, largeamount of investment and slow the recovery of funds, the late management of complex, highmaintenance costs after the game the sustainable management more difficult. Therefore, thefollow-up operation of the large-scale stadiums and the management can not only avoidlarge-scale competition stadiums to bear a disproportionate economic burden, but also toadapt to the needs of growing fitness programs and mass culture and entertainment activities,in order to get rid of the venues of major sports events arising from financial difficulties andstrive for greater social and economic benefits. Through literature research, questionnaires,analysis and comparison method, the use of the knowledge of sports science, management,marketing and other disciplines, the focus from the follow-up operation of the basic theory,the follow-up to operating conditions, the subsequent impact on the operation of factors fourfollow-up operation of large-scale stadiums.Follow-up to the large-scale stadiums operating system knowledge is the theoreticalbasis of this study. This section analyzes on the basis of an overview of the concept of majorsports events venues follow-up operation, the characteristics of the five main types ofbusiness model: institutions independent business model, enterprise management mode,commissioned by the management model, contract management mode and leasingmanagement model. Discussed below based on the use of the theory: the theory ofinstitutional change, marketing theory, Maslow’s hierarchy needs theory and public economicstheory of theoretical support.Follow-up to the large-scale stadiums operating conditions is the focus of this study.Questionnaire based on137major sports events, venues, focusing on follow-up businessprofiles, follow-up to the operational effectiveness and measure the operating status of thevenues of major sports events, studies have shown that: follow-up operations of thelarge-scale stadiums in China in the planning stages of a lack of scientific planning, businessprocess management system is not perfect, making the venue functions play was inhibited, theoperational effectiveness of social benefits has not been due to play.The key part of the paper is the analyses of the impacting factors and difficult problems on the operation of the large-scale stadiums. Operation of large-scale stadiums by the businessphilosophy, business model, management system, human resources and internal factors andexternal factors of political and legal factors, geo-demographic factors, sports consumerawareness. Among them, the internal management system is the key to restricting thestadiums; In addition, the follow-up operations on the stadium’s difficult problems, this paperconsiders the investment and financing system is not perfect, separation of ownership andmanagement system, venues, resources comprehensive utilization rate is low and theeconomic and social effectiveness is difficult to take into account issues such as the difficultyof restricting the development of large stadiums.Proposed in this paper to follow-up to operational status of the improvement oflarge-scale stadiums is the end-result of this paper. For the foregoing findings, this articlefrom the reform, investment and financing system reform internal and external managementsystem, development of the stadium a variety of functions, product marketing proposed in thispaper. Reform the system of investment: the BOT model, the PPP model, Equity financingmodel, bond financing mode, sports sponsorship financing mode; reform the internal andexternal management system: reform external management system and optimize internalmanagement system, and introduce professional operation team. Develop various functions oflarge-scale stadiums: implement diversified management, Increase investment; productmarketing: provide the special service, pay attention to the network marketing.
