As the important participants in campus activities, college students, teachers and managers are the three most influenced subjects in the colleges. With the economic development and reform deepening, college students want to have more discourse right in decision-making of college affairs and obtain their own interests in college management. The direct participation of college students has become a trend in the process of college management. At the same time, it is important for us to actively explore the different paths of participation for students if we have to promote scientific and democratic nature of the college administration.In micro level, the participation of students in college management could become the propulsive force of democratization in college management. With the background of globalization, the rising of this trend comes with the changes of economic, society and education in china and the contradiction of management in campus. As the managers of the colleges, they should reduce the negative influence of student participation and make the rational utilization in management in order to guarantee the healthy development of institutions of higher education.There are four parts of this paper. With the literature analysis on empirical studies and interviews on internet, we hackle the main history of student participation in foreign countries in the first part. Then we show the history and different paths of student participation in our nation from the point of different subjects. In the third part, the paper gives a deep analysis to the current problems of student participation in our colleges. Also, the paper comes to the conclusion and gives the countermeasures and suggestions on the system, legal, managers and student participating in the end.
