Learning to learn is the requirements of quality education as well as all-round development of people and the needs of the twenty-first century. Therefore, it is particularly important to cultivate the self-regulated learning ability. This article provides an overview of the basic theory of self-regulated learning and the self-regulated ability, analyzing the cultivation of self-regulated learning ability deeply, with a view to upgrade the teaching reform, to help change the teaching attitudes and to help convert the learning manner.This article consists of five sections to discuss how to develop the students’ self-regulated learning ability. The first section is the introduction. In this section, the paper introduces the research background, the research significance, the domestic and abroad literature review and the methodologies from all over the world. In section two, this paper makes a summary of the basic theories of self-regulated learning. The paper also expounds the definition, features and the aims of the self-regulated learning in section three, and illustrates several teaching models and strategies of self-regulated learning. In section four, according to the survey of the physics teaching in senior high school at present, the paper analyzes the feasibility of the self-regulated learning and presents the rules and strategies through the experiment process. The section five shows the results and the discussion, in which we can draw a conclusion that the self-regulated learning is suitable for teaching in modern society and it can also satisfy the demands of cultivating talents for the society.
