To promote the development of the teachers is not only a matter of themselves, but also a key work to the schoolmaster. All the school masters hope that there’s a high-quality and high-level team in their school. They consider and explore the efficient methods to promote the development of their teachers. Theoretically, the aim of development achieves during the happening and growing of some events. And most of the time, it is these events that changes the individual and the team. These events are called critical incidents. Just as a soul button, once it is found and started, the teachers will be altered fundamentally. It plays an important role to the teachers. By exploring these critical incidents, the schoolmasters can know more about their teachers, find more’secrets’that hided inside them, and solve the practical problems. It makes sense both in theory and practice during the growth of the teachers.The main concern in this study is as follows:Is there any critical incidents in the teachers’development? Which event can be called critical incidents? How do the critical incidents affect? What is inside the critical incidents? What role can the schoolmasters play in the process of forming and using the incidents which help the teachers to develop?The study takes the way of the research in narrating education based on the quality research. We can get more critical incidents by multiple methods, and classify them according to three ranges in the theory of Teacher Professional Development:the professional knowledge (Normal knowledge, Subject knowledge, and Education knowledge), the professional abilities (Teaching abilities and researching abilities), professional qualities (Professional morality, devotion to duty, and innovative consciousness), and also the different aspects of the three ranges. We can analyze in repeated reading in order to find the inner regularity of the development through the surface.The basic conclusion of this study is as follows:NO.1the critical incident is plot-telling and individual outside, as well as emotional and critical inside. The essence of the development is to strike the sensitive spot, to affect people, and to alternate people fundamentally. NO.2the key events play two roles in the development-the inner one is based on the Self-image Theory and Human Requirement Theory in psychology. The outer one is based on the relation of organizing and self-organizing. NO.3the methods that a school helps to form these critical incidents are as follow:the first one is to be honest to make the teachers get a clear self-image. The second one is meticulous management in order to combine the organizing and self-organizing. The third is to make opportunity for the teachers to form new requirement. The last one is that the schoolmaster can play three roles in the critical incidents. That is the insider, the interlocutor, and the creator.
