The technique and tactics characters in serving round and receiving round are different in table tennis. This paper, by the means of video observation, mathematical statistics, documentation and logical analysis, will compare and analyze the technique and tactics characters of Chinese outstanding women’s table tennis player Li Xiaoxia, Ding Ning, Liu Shiwen, Guo Yan, Guo Yue in serving and receiving rounds, to summarize the characteristic and difference between every Chinese women athletes on every stroke both in serving round and in receiving round. According to the study, we found:Our Chinese top women’s table tennis players have an obvious advantage in serving round. And in receiving round, we don’t have a distinct disadvantage. In the serving round, the average score rate is55.93%. And in receiving round the rate is49.93%. The two rates in serving round and receiving round have a highly statistically significant difference,(p<0.01).Li Xiaoxia has a high rate of scoring in both serving and reciving round, the rates between the two rounds are no significantly different (p>0.05). Her overall strength occupies superiorly and won’t make obvious mistakes in every stroke. She is outstanding in the attack-after-service at the third strok on serving round; the rates of using and scoring are significantly higher than other players. And the ability of the after attack and attack after controlling at the fourth stroke are also prominent. Her rallying capacity is excellent, has the highest scoring rate in receiving round rallying, the rate in serving round rallying is only after Guo Yan.Ding Ning’s scoring rate in serving round is slightly higher than the receiving round scoring rate, but they have no significant difference (p>0.05). Ding Ning’s style is steadier but not fierce enough. The rallying at fifth stroke in serving round and sixth stroke in receiving round are much more than other players, the game focus more on the list. Ding Ning is not good at creating opportunities with controlling skills; her advantage lies in the rallying after make the ball up-spin. Her scoring rate in using attack tactics after the fifth stroke in serving round is significantly higher than others.Liu Shiwen has a higher scoring rate in serve round than receiving round, the two rates have significant differences (p<0.05). Liu Shiwen’s engagement between every stroke is faster, but has more unnecessary mistakes. And she serves more directly scoring serve than others. She is more likely to attack at the third stroke in serving round, but the scoring rate is not so high.Guo Yan’s scoring rate in the two rounds has no significant difference (p>0.05). She has good rallying skill, has the highest rate to score in rallying after the fifth stroke in serving round, the rate in rallying after sixth stroke in receiving round is just behind Li Xiaoxia, significantly higher than others. Guo Yan’s short ball could create better chances to attack, the attack after controlling at fifth stroke in serving round and fourth stroke in receiving round is prominent.Cue Yue’s scoring rate is obviously higher in serving round. The difference is significant (p<0.05). Guo Yue’s style is vicious spirited, more likely to make senseless mistakes and not good at rallying. She can make good use of the third stroke in serving round and the second stroke in receiving. The using of the fourth stroke only second to LiuShiWen. Comparing with others, Guo Yue’s emphases in the games are more in the advance. She is more likely to attack after the fifth and sixth stroke in rallying, but has the lowest scoring rate of that.
