| In recent years. School Cultural Characterization has become heatedly mentioned words in the educational circles. Along with the Course Reforms, great concerns and attention have really been attached to the key meanings of educational development and quality school management by primary schools, middle schools and high schools all around the country, who are also fighting a way out for a personality. As is proven by practice, the building of school culture has been an effective way to develop its own characteristics. As a result, much importance has been laid on it by schools. It’s self-evident that culture bears profound influence on people. The spirit of a school lies in its culture, which helps to build up a value system recognizable to the school staff. With all school work going on according to such a system, all the teaching staff members would be inspired to do their best with a shared faith and goal. From such an awareness, we come to realize that school culture has great impact on the growing-up process of both the students and teachers, and the school itself. School cultural characterization should be a human-oriented constructional process. Proceeding from reality, it should help tap potentials with a prospective product of the growth and development for both the people and therefore the school itself. Once the school has such refined culture of its own, there must be inspired spiritual power from teachers and students, and goals and harder-working will just follow. However, school culture is not just received from nowhere. Then where can we get it? Since it’s a kind of culture, it must be in connection of traditions. China enjoys a long and profound history of five thousand years. The essence of the traditional culture is the fountain that’s what holding up this ancient civilization. Schools are important places and institutions that pass on the main-stream values of a country. Its values, therefore, are connected to our socialistic value system. With such considerations at heart, school culture characterization can help combine the essence of traditional cultures and the existing mainstream values, inheriting the Chinese traditional culture while embodying the characteristics of our time.Based on considerations stated above, this research explore the example of Guiya Primary School to study the practice of its school cultural characterization. We will focus on its Refinement building, to find out some of the problems and work out a strategy for its better promotion. This research essay includes four parts:The first part is the introduction, depicting the backgrounds, meanings of the research, laying grounds for and defining the contents of culture, its school culture and the Refinement. And figure out the ways and methods of the research.The second part makes statements in general about the idea of Guiya Primary School’s cultural characterization. Based on its situations, from the management team, staff, school conditions, its surrounding environments and resources and the school itself, we will have analysis in five categories about the school’s advantages. And we will be combining the traditional Chinese culture, the existing requirements for the school development, the students’ physical and psychological traits and all the work done here, so that we can form proofs about the contents of the Refinement, the cultures advantages the school enjoys.The third part will make statements about the practice and phenomenon that Guiya Road Primary School are facing in four respects including the civil construction in culture, spiritual area, and its immediate environment, with a purpose the explain what the Refinement aims at.The fourth part, based on the third part, will do retrospective thinking about all this Refinement process. And try to discuss the designs and factors that affect their work, putting forward some strategic suggestions. |
