In this paper, the object of the survey of teachers in university of Chengdu was to understand their subjective well-being status, to analyze demographic factors as well as differences in subjective well-being, to survey the relevance of life indicators and subjective well-being, and to study the influence of life events and coping style of teachers in Chengdu university to the sense of subjective well-being. Ultimately the proposal of enhancing the subjective well-being of teachers in Chengdu university was explored.In this paper, the "subjective well-being questionnaire,""life event scale" and "Coping Questionnaire" were conducted during the survey of302university teachers in Chengdu, and SPSS was used for analysis of survey data.The survey results showed that scores of life satisfaction and positive emotion of teachers in Chengdu University were between middle level; negative emotions achieved lower scores and self-description average happiness score was6.214, indicating the upmiddle level of subjective well-being of university teachers in Chengdu. Differences of the demographic factors of gender and major on subjective well-being were not significant, while marriage, job title and age had significant differences on subjective well-being. Among them, the married college teachers had higher subjective well-being than the unmarried college teachers; subjective well-being of Professors was significantly higher than the teaching assistant, lecturer and associate professor; University teachers over the age of40had a higher subjective well-being. Life indicators of Chengdu university teachers, such as living environment, family life and income had a high correlation with subjective well-being. Life events also had an impact on subjective well-being, while positive life events can play an active role and negative life events can play the opposite role. Teachers, having mature coping styles, owned higher subjective well-being, while immature coping styles of university teachers made a lower subjective well-being.According to the survey results, from three aspects of the personal adjustment, organizational level and social support, the proposals are given to enhance the subjective well-being of university teachers in Chengdu in this paper. First, college teachers need appropriate personal adjustment:a correct concept of talent must be first established; then the professional development need to be enhanced; finally, maintain a positive attitude in the work. Second, a harmonious atmosphere should be created to improve subjective well-being of university teachers in the organizational level, while improving the treatment is an effective measure; a good Schools brand need to be created to enhance the university teachers’pride and sense of belonging. Third, effective social support network should be established for university teachers.
