E-learning, as an essential modern learning approach, has been more and more popular among all ages, so it has been widely used in class, distance teaching and as well as staff training for enterprises. E-learning can exerts a direct impact on the effectiveness of learners. It is helpful to monitor and adjust the learning progress of learners when researching into how to collect and analyze E-learning behavior and present it in an intuitive form, and it can be beneficial to perfect supportive services and adjust teaching strategies so as to hatch and exploit E-learning platforms with more reasonableness. With the mining technology of database designed for statistical analysis to E-learning behavior, the varieties among learning methods, learning progress and learning orientation hidden behind overt behaviors can be mined up.The statistical analysis module of E-learning behavior is developed with the combination of ASP.NET and XML. The application of component technology can significantly improve the development efficiency, while XML can help realize the transformation between different source information so as to smooth the data exchange between the modules and learning platforms. If using this module for statistical analysis, and taking XML documents as the original source data, the analysis to E-learning behavior will take more generality. The analyzer does not have to rely on online learning platform, so this module is strongly independent. The result of statistical analysis is presented with statistical diagrams which bring more convenience to statistical analysis; moreover, the design of distributed interfaces enables other systems can be integrated into the statistical analysis function of this module for cooperative work.This paper described the design and development progress of statistical analysis module for E-learning behavior in details. This paper consists of six parts and the contents for each part come as follows:The first part probes into the research background of this paper, expounding the present research situation both at home and abroad as well as the significance of this research.The second part defines the relevant concepts regarding E-learning behavior, reviewing the emergence, definition and main viewpoints of learning style, introducing the function, the main progress of statistical analysis and drawing of statistical data, as well as the definition, function and steps of data mining, brings in the introduction to development platforms and other key technologies concerning ASP, NET and XML as well as Web Services.The third part introduces the design principles, design targets and ideas of the module, analyzing and contriving the functions of each sub-modules. The fourth part brings in the introduction to algorisms for the core class, each sub-modules and program design as well as the concrete implementation steps in details.The fifth part expounds the test application of function testing for modules, including test design, implementation and data analysis.The sixth part makes a summary for this paper, explaining the shortcomings of the module and providing further improvement with prospects.
