Academic competence refers to the essential quality and capacity of knowledge and experience level in academic research. Academic competence includes cognitive ability and scientific research ability of analyzing and solving problems in academic and theoretical knowledge. The development process of academic competence is the development process of the above abilities.In this study, interview method is adopted, selecting and analyzing four different types of Master of Pedagogy according to explicit evaluation criteria of academic development, including a student with different professional backgrounds and good academic competence, a student with different professional backgrounds and general academic competence, a student with the same professional background and good academic competence, a student with the same professional background and general academic competence.The research of their development process of academic competence is aimed to show the dynamic development and natural development status of the pedagogy masters’academic competence. With the perspective of overall and organic concept, to understand the affecting factors in the process of academic development and analyze the way that different types of academic development individuals to construct in complex relationship. And different sociology theories is used to explain the development of academic competence, including theory of rational choice, theory of strong knowledge structure, the theory of achievement motivation, and the theory of subject and object interaction.Through the research, the following understanding is obtained: First, the common characteristics of the master of pedagogy major with good academic competence development are targeted, motivated, wide factors of enhancing academic competence, integrating the encouragement and approval from mentor and other external factors with individual initiative to improve the academic competence; while the common characteristics of the master of pedagogy major with general academic competence development are fuzzy goal and initiative, without recognition for the significance of the development of individual academic competence, and academic competence stagnation.Second, from a professional point of view, there isn’t decisive effect on the development of academic competence whether from the same major background. The students from different major can develop the understanding of academic knowledge through active studying and academic activities, etc. Similarly, students from the same major maybe confined in aspect of academic perspective.Third, the development of academic competence of master in pedagogy is based on the accumulation of academic knowledge, the thorough understanding of academic knowledge and the generation of problem awareness, to shape the academic competence under the guidelines of humane care and the research of theoretical and practical study.Fourth, the mentor is the key factor of the development of students’academic competence, i.e., the development cannot depart from the guidance from the mentor, and the academic spirit of the mentor encourages the students to carry on academic studying. The students enhance their academic competence through academic activities. Individual is the core of the development of students’academic competence, and external influencing factors is deepened through individual’s initiative studying. Meanwhile, during the development process of academic competence, the interaction of various affecting factors makes the overall presentation of development process of academic competence.This research provides practical reference for the academic training of master from pedagogy, and enriches the theoretical knowledge of development of academic competence. |
