In the Distance Education, the relationship of time and space has already been destroyed. Just in this situation, there has been a teaching distance between the teacher and students, Which is the biggest barrier to the Distance instruction. The Perfect Combination of online teaching and face to face tutorial has been a remedy for that, thus, the Blending Teaching came into being. However, studies related to the Blending Teaching effectiveness show different results whether domestic or international, which largely depends on the limited amount of high-quality research, the small sample size, and the short study period about the Blending Teaching.In order to better serve the improvement of Blending Teaching effectiveness, this study focuses on the online teaching, and the researcher takes "Social Investigation and Method" as the case. We measure the current situation of three presences in the community of inquiry about this course, and put up with some related online teaching strategies, also the strategies which better join the online teaching and face-to-face tutorial together. We hope this study can bring about some new hope to the Blending Teaching.In this study, we takes "Social Investigation and Method" as the case. On one hand, we conducted observation on the face to face tutorials of tutors, on the other hand, we tracked the online teaching at the same time. Furthermore, the researcher has interviewed and questionnaire the students.This study found that:(1) The continuing care for the students is the guarantee of the successful online learning.(2) Some teaching strategies just as "Problem-based"、"Heuristic teaching"、" Scaffolding instruction" is the effective way to promote students’participation.(3) Necessary behaviorism teaching strategies is essential to the online teaching.(4) The effective combination of online teaching and face to face tutorial can promote students’participation.Based on the above study, we give these suggestions:(1) For the online teaching, teachers should pay attention to the selection and design of the topics and activities.(2) Emphasis on the training of the online tutorial teachers, and carry out the special training aimed at the online teaching tutorials strategies.(3) Teachers should focus on the reasonable combination of the online teaching and the face to face tutorial.(4) Create an effective online learning environment for students.
