Research On Development Path Of Interdisciplinary Research Team Of Universities In China

As the technology continues to progress and development, interdisciplinary research has increasingly become the trend of cutting-edge research. The development of university interdisciplinary research effectively promoted the integration of resources of universities advantage disciplines, researchers complement each other and produce new disciplinary growth points. The interdisciplinary research team building is the basis for the development of interdisciplinary research, high levels of interdisciplinary research team is able to enhance university research competitiveness effectively. What is the current status about the University interdisciplinary research team building? What will be the affected factors? whether there is a certain degree of regularity in Team building? These are the major thinking points of universities interdisciplinary team building in this paper.In this paper, use the literature review, combing the theory of university interdisciplinary construction. Use contingency theory, organizational life cycle theory, behavioral science theory, systems management theory, the theory of the management process to build the framework of team-building research from the perspective of organization theory. Construct the life cycle model of the interdisciplinary team.Extract six dominant factor which promote the development of interdisciplinary team,such as resources, management, staff, and opening up.Using exploratory case study, selected the Institute for Advanced Study of Zhejiang University, Zhejiang-California International Nano systems Institute, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Beckman Institute interdisciplinary research team at three different team development period as the subject of case studies based on the theoretical framework. Obtain the general pattern of the interdisciplinary team development and the performance characteristics of the interdisciplinary team under the influence of the dominant factor in different periods, finally summarized the interdisciplinary team building problems and possible solutions.
