Research On The Trust Crisis Of Public Foundation In Social Transition

The rise of civil society is an important sign in social transition, which is also an important change since the reform and opening-up and is a logical starting point of NPO’s emergence and development. The government is not everything, public foundation as a powerful supplement of national and market system and an important mechanism of wealth distribution, it has made a great contribution for the development of economy and the progress of the society. Any society and even a society at any stage may occur the trust crisis phenomenon, and there are indications that China is entering a high-risk period of social trust problem. Trust shortages cover almost all aspects of social life, due to many factors of the long-term comprehensive accumulation. Lack of trust resources in social transition is a special social background where the public foundations early develop in. Now public foundations in China are facing the challenges of the trust crisis, but there is "opportunity" in "crisis ". If the crisis can be taken as reform opportunities, the crisis can be turned into an opportunity to promote the development of China pubic foundations, even the whole charity.First, this article attempts to analyze the living environment of the public foundations according to the characteristics of social transition, and the author try to use the state-society relations theory and resource dependency theory that they can help to analyze the relationship between the government and the public foundations; Secondly, through the combination method of questionnaires, case analysis and depth interviews, the author try to explore the trust crisis performance of public foundations, its causes, and its countermeasures to the problem. In this section, the application of the theory is trust theory which was employed to explore the reasons of trust crisis, and the governance theory to find the proposal. This article analyzes the reasons of the trust crisis from several angles as the government, society, media, public foundations. Finally, the author drew two basic conclusions and made some suggestions to improve the credibility. The trust crisis has become a bottleneck for the public foundations’development, therefore, this article intends to provide some recommendations to improve the credibility.
